PTA Equipment Requests, Volunteer Requests, and School/Educational Grants

Please use this form. The more detail you give, the better we will be able to help fill your request. We ask that you give one month notice for all requests, if possible. We will contact you within one week of receiving the request.

 

Staff School Materials Reimbursement

The Little River PTA provides reimbursement of school materials to every full-time staff member and part-time classified staff of the school. These Staff School Materials Reimbursements are provided to make sure that school staff do not have to dip into their own pockets to purchase class items. Staff members must be a PTA member to receive a reimbursement for materials. All items purchased using PTA funds are for educational and classroom use only and become the property of Little River Elementary School as a gift from the Little River PTA. In a typical year, items would be kept on school grounds at all times. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, items are allowed to be removed from the school grounds but should be returned to the school at the completion of the 2023-2024 school year.

Reimbursement Budget:

The 2023-2024 budget provides for $100 for full-time staff and $50 for part time staff. If you are unsure of your reimbursement classification, please reach out to confirm before purchasing reimbursable items. This budgeted amount will be reimbursed once a year for all staff.

What Items are Reimbursed:

The primary purpose of the Staff School Materials Reimbursement is to provide money to teachers to use throughout the school year for small and/or consumable items for their classrooms/students.

Teachers should not use the Staff School Materials Reimbursement for activities outside the classroom or for larger expenditures on items that will remain in the classroom past the end of the school year.

Examples of supplies that are would be reimbursed in a typical school year include: art supplies for a class project, supplies to support a classroom pet, small games or learning tools, supplies for a classroom experiment. These items are meant to be used by the students for educational purposes.

Examples of supplies that we are now including in our reimbursement as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic: second monitor for distant teaching, headphones with mic, TPT virtual resources, USB flash drive, document camera, educational background boards, laptop stands, printer ink, manipulatives materials to send to students.

To Get Reimbursed:

1. Teachers can submit to be reimbursed only one time a year.
2. Please submit reimbursement form on the Financial Information page. Do not leave hard copy’s in the PTA mailbox, they will not be processed.
3. Submit copies of all receipts for reimbursement.
4. Deadline for submission is Friday, December 15, 2023.
5. Any requests received after the deadline will not be approved.
6. Submit the Form and attached receipts to sharolyn@littleriverpta.org.
7. Gift cards will not be reimbursed.

Beyond the Reimbursement

We want to hear from you. Last year a few teachers came to us with specific requests that would benefit their students beyond this one time reimbursement program. We are glad to consider any requests that come our way. While we may not be able to fulfill every request, we can work with our community to do the best we can. We are heavily focused on the students this year and want to secure educational experiences beyond what the county provides.
