PTA BOARD POSITIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS
Our open positions for the 2022-2023 school year are as follows:
President: Presides at all meetings. Coordinates the work of the officers and committees. Supports the nomination of the board for the next school year. Submits election information to the Virginia PTA State Office.
Vice President of Fundraising: Oversees the annual fundraising campaigns for the following year’s budget and chairs the PTA fundraising committee. In a typical year this person coordinates Spirit Wear orders, Spirit Nights with local businesses, and Sponsorships with local businesses.
Vice President of Events: Recruits event chairs for PTA sponsored events, with the Volunteer Coordinator. Provides focus and acts as a resource for event chairs through the planning process.
Volunteer Coordinator: Recruits volunteers for programs, events and fundraisers. Maintains a roster of current volunteers, and plans volunteer appreciation events.
Secretary: Collects information for meeting agendas, and distributes agendas for each board meeting. Keeps an permanent record of proceedings at all PTA board and general meetings. Maintains the social networking accounts, web site, newsletter, and coordinates with most of the committees on advertising/ecommerce and alike.
Treasurer: Collects and dispenses money for PTA functions. Maintains/audits all accounts and records, and provides monthly/annual reports and projections at PTA meetings. Files all tax documentation. Serves as chair of the budget/finance committee and presents the budget to the membership.
All positions perform any additional duties as described in the bylaws. These are summaries of high level requirements.
